Public Health Dietitian

Following the Public Health Standards outlined by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care, as a public health dietitian, I plan, implement and evaluate evidenced-based programs related to promoting health for young adults. Recent projects include developing a position statement on Supporting Students' Development of a Positive Relationship with Food in Schools, developing a food skills and mental well being program for schools, developmening curriculum connected resources for teachers related to increasing fruit and vegetable consumption, planning and implementing a social media platform for teens, implementing healthy eating programs in schools.
Primary Care Dietitian
2013-2017
As a Primary Care Dietitian in two different Family Health Teams I provided client centered, goal oriented assessment, teaching and counselling services to patients requiring assistance with nutritional management. I also facilitated group education classes relating to health promotion and chronic disease management. I worked collaboratively with all members of the multidisciplinary team including physicians, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, mental health counsellors, and social workers as well as community services such as CCAC and meals on wheels.
Long Term Care Dietitian
2010-2012
As a Long Term Care Dietitian I worked with the staff and residence to recommend appropriate diet orders, textures and nutritional supplements based on dietary an in depth assessment. Recommendations were based on anthropometric, biochemical, dietary, pharmaceutical and psychosocial data for each resident following legislated nutrition and hydration standards.
